Sea Meadow Marine Foundation is hosting Seaweed & the Soil, the first event of the Freeport based series taking place in the Forest Room at Wolfe’s Neck Farm State Park.

Farmers Marlan Hinnant & Antonio LaSalle, will be keynote speakers at this event and will discuss the impact of topsoil nutrition to the survival of farms in Maine, as well as their experiences as BIPOC individuals seeking government funding to address these issues. Connor Crowley of Sea Meadow Marine Foundation will speak about the importance of nutrient cycling and kelp’s benefit to land farms.
