DESCRIPTION:Calling all seaweed growers! USDA-ARS is hosting a seaweed listening session on\nYou are invited to participate in an upcoming USDA Listening Session focused on Maine’s farmed seaweed sector. The purpose of this session is to hear directly from growers\, processors\, and industry partners about current challenges\, opportunities\, and priorities for supporting a resilient and sustainable seaweed industry. It is a unique and valuable opportunity for USDA officials to hear directly from Maine stakeholders. This is the first time a seaweed research focused USDA listening session like this has occurred anywhere in the country. The USDA will be writing a national strategy to support farmed seaweed\, in part directed by Congress\, and your insights will help inform that effort. \nDate: Monday\, April 27th\nTime: 3-5:30\nLocation: Glickman Library\, 7th Floor\, Portland. Free parking on USM campus \nFollowing the session\, there will be an optional happy hour in Portland from 6-7 PM for those who would like to continue the conversation.
