DMR Biotoxin Workshop

This online workshop/discussion with the Department of Marine Resources is an opportunity to discuss future testing of American oysters.

There was a red tide/Paralytic Shellfish poisoning bloom in the summer of 2025 that impacted many oyster farmers, particularly in Casco Bay. This workshop is to discuss possible changes to the DMR biotoxin monitoring program to most effectively manage the risk of future red tide events for farmed American oysters in the Casco Bay area.
